It looks as if we are going to get more “Fenris” on our television screens as Fox has officially renewed it’s hit X-men based series, “The Gifted” for a second season. Fox made the announcement Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
The series is set in the “X-Men” universe and follows a suburban couple, The Struckers who discover that their teenage children are mutants with special powers. They are forced to flee from the government while connecting with an underground network of mutants while fighting to survive. Fox is preparing to air its two-hour first season finale on Jan. 15.
It stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Natalie Alyn Lind, Percy Hynes White, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, and Coby Bell.
The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television. Matt Nix, Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory serve as executive producers. Nix, who serves as the series’ showrunner, wrote the pilot, which was directed by Singer.
