We are officially one month away from the gigantic team up known as Avengers:Infinity War. Amidst all of the posters, trailers and tv spots we officially begin production on the latest avenger, Captain Marvel.
In a press release from Marvel Studios announcing the start of production on Captain Marvel, The stuido has confirmed 3 new cast members that are for sure to get the fans even more excited; Clark Gregg, the beloved Agent Phil Coulson from the earliest Marvel Cinematic Universe films and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., along with Djimon Hounsou and Lee Pace, who both previously appeared in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
Hearing that Phil Coulson is in the film makes all the sense in the world given that the film is set in the 90s and features Samuel L. Jackson as a younger two-eyed Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. This will be the first Marvel Studios film that Gregg has appeared in since his on-screen death in 2012’s Avengers, even though he has been the lead character in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. after being brought back to life a few times.
Pace played Ronan the Accuser in Guardians, a member of the Kree alien race, who are central to the Captain Marvel plot. Hounsou played Korath the Pursuer, an accomplice of Ronan. Given the prominent role of the Kree in Captain Marvel mythology, a return from both characters seems like a natural fit.
