At the time of typing this we are getting prepared for the season 6 finale of Arrow on the CW. Team Arrow is once again back together to take on Ricardo Diaz and the soul of Star City hangs in the balance.
On top of the high stakes within this season finale that is titled “Life Sentence” it also marks the end of both Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle as showrunners as well as a farewell to Paul Blackthorne who for the past 6 years has portrayed Quentin Lance. Guggenheim while speaking with TV Line gave a bit of an easter egg as what fans can expect heading into season seven, “I will say that the reference to the Longbow Hunters is us planting a flag, much the same way we referenced Damien Darhk in the Season 3 finale.”
The Longbow Hunters made their first appearance in the New 52’s Green Arrow#31, penned by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Andrea Sorrentino. The team consist of the DC Comics version of Arrow’s Ricardo Diaz, Richard Dragon, and included Red Dart, Brick, Count Vertigo and Killer Moth. Now we have seen a few of these characters in the show before, Brick or Danny Brickwell was portrayed by Vinny Jones and Count Vertigo has been “reborn” in the series.
How do you feel about this inclusion of a new super team of villains and are you looking forward to season seven.
