The CW has cast its Batwoman and it is a great choice an actress Ruby Rose. Rose who is an openly lesbian actress will be first introduced in the annual CW Arrowverse crossover event in December and then will potentially take the lead into her own series.
Rose’s Batwoman will be based around Kate Kane, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. She is armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope and thereby calling herself a hero.
Batwoman is in development being penned by with Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaires) and Arrow-verse mastermind Greg Berlanti will be executive producing it.
Rose’s casting comes after the network made it a priority to cast an openly gay actress to take on the role. She definitely is the right fit to play the heroine as her credits include Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black and features The Meg, Pitch Perfect 3 and John Wick: Chapter 2.
