Venom has been consistently making waves at the box office. After its incredible debut domestically and then an explosive one in China its has steadily been on a roll jumping its global total. Analysts had predicted that the picture could amass as much as $800 million before it finishes its theatrical run, and it has now crossed that milestone having taken in $822.5 million worldwide ($211.7M domestic, $610.8M intl).
You definitely have to acknowledge that many audiences scoffed when hearing that this would be a Spider-Man less movie and these numbers have shut that down.
This bodes extremely well for Sony moving forward into their marvel universe with a for sure sequel and their next project Morbius: The Living Vampire starring Jared Leto.
