BLACK PANTHER Nominated For Best Picture At The Oscars

 

This is something that many people had been hoping was a possibility since back in February but now it is officially a reality, Black Panther is now a Best Picture Oscar nominated film.

The nominations for the  Academy Awards were announced this morning and the Ryan Coogler directed film was announced making it the first ever superhero film to nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Speaking of director Ryan Coogler, he unfortunately was not nominated for Best Director in a field that included Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman), Adam McKay (Vice), Alfonso Cuaron (Roma), Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite), and Pawel Pawlikowski (Cold War).

The film was also nominated in several other categories; Production Design, Costume Design, Original Score and “All The Stars” by Kendrick Lamar ft SZA.

The Oscars will air live on February 24, 2019 at 5pm PST/8pm PST.
