San Diego Comic Con is just around the corner and with many awaiting what Marvel Studios is set to bring to Hall H on Saturday, we now know one of the many major announcements.  The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Marvel Studios is indeed moving forward with the long-rumored Thor 4 and have confirmed that Taika Waititi will return to write and direct the follow-up to his 2017 blockbuster, THOR RAGNAROK

Chris Hemsworth has also been confirmed to reprise his role as the all-mighty God of Thunder. But will we see in shape Thor or Fat Thor from AVENGERS ENDGAME.

It should be no surprise that Marvel Studios wanted Waititi to return to helm the follow to this extremely successful RAGNAROK.

Now when it comes to the manga turned  movie AKIRA, it was originally set to arrive in theaters on May 21, 2021 but with Waititi beginning production on THOR 4 and even script development concerns with AKIRA all equaled the film being pushed back indefinitely.

What Warner Bros will do next for AKIRA is unclear. Several sources have said that Warner Bros is keen on keeping Waititi involved for the long term and hopes to see him pick up AKIRA after Thor 4.

  1. Hopefully him working on Thor 4ce clears out the creative cobwebs on how to approach Akira and we get something that is awesome. Alita was good and if we can get something like that or better I’m ok with this pause.
