When Marvel Television’s partnership with Netflix came to an end and cancelled some favorite’s such as DAREDEVIL, JESSICA JONES, LUKE CAGE, IRON FIST and THE PUNISHER, fans quickly learned that the streaming team up was not done. They had teamed up with Hulu for a number of new original series, including Hit-Monkey, Tigra & Dazzler, and M.O.D.O.K.
But thanks to Jeph Loeb, there is now new and exciting information as what’s to come with the Marvel and Hulu partnership and specifically whats to come for Ghost Rider and Helstrom.
Recently while speaking with Deadline, Loeb said that the horror filled shows will fall under a banner called “Adventure Into Fear,” Now for comic books fans who are wondering why this may sound familiar, it is because that name shared by a Marvel Comics title from the 1970s. Loeb also spoke on that while negotiations where happening with Hulu they realized “there were three or four shows that” could fit under the “Adventure into Fear” banner. Now of course two of these are obviously the ones we know of GHOST RIDER and HELSTROM, Loeb confirmed there are still a couple of shows that have yet to be “revealed to the world.”
Finally, even though most will classify this collection of Marvel series as horror (i.e Marvel knights), Loeb said that isn’t the term he’d use, because mainly horror is a bit too broad of a description.
“No, it’s terror, because when you say horror, it means so many different things……What we love is the notion of how we can present a Marvel hero who was truly feared and truly believed that they were a monster, but that, as the stories go on, they realize, oh, I’m the hero of the story, I’m not the villain of the story.” Loeb spoke on how the shows would be different from those that are filled with guts and gore.
