Sometimes you get news stories that pretty much is tragic and this another one of those stories.
Freeform has decided to not renew the drama MARVEL ’s CLOAK & DAGGER for a third season. The news was broken by Deadline. The word circulating is that the options on the cast had expired this week which also played into the decision.
CLOAK & DAGGER’s second season ratings dropped almost 40% in comparison to its first season . This was on par with another recently cancelled drama series, PLL: THE PERFECTIONISTS. So it is easy to say that the writing was on the wall.
Though the show has been cancelled the recent season will not be the last in which we see the duo of Cloak and Dagger, played by Aubrey Joseph & Olivia Holt respectively. The pair is set to appear in an upcoming crossover episode of MARVEL’S RUNAWAYS on Hulu.
