There had been much talk about the future of STARGIRL, would it actually air on the DC Universe streaming site or possibly be scrapped altogether. Well we now have an answer and it is an interesting one.
According to DEADLINE, STARGIRL will be the first original DC Universe series to air on linear television. The upcoming superhero drama will play on THE CW after its debut on the DC streaming platform.
Here’s a little more clarity on how this will work. The CW will broadcast each episode in primetime the day after it premieres on the DC Universe streaming service. STARGIRL is set to debut sometime during the second quarter of 2020. A premiere date will be announced later, along with scheduling information which night the show will air on the CW.
With both BATWOMAN and SUPERGIRL heading towards their ends of season around this time this may be the perfect place to fill the void on the network.
STARGIRL stars Brec Bassinger as Coutrney Whitmore aka Stargirl along with Joel McHale, Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker and Hunter Sansone.
