Prepare to fly further, faster and higher now that the sequel to the blockbuster CAPTAIN MARVEL is a go. This time around for the sequel, the originals co-writers and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will not return to helm the sequel or write it. A staff writer from the upcoming Disney + WANDAVISION, Megan McDonnell, is set to pen a script for a follow-up to the 2019 movie that starred Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson.
Full details about the plot have not yet been revealed but it has been noted that the superhero movie will go from the 1990s into present day.
The original CAPTAIN MARVEL had several writers at the helm including the co directors as well as Nicole Perlman, Meg LeFauve and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
McConnell is a relatively new writer with WandaVision being her first major credit. The show brings back Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany as Avengers heroes Wanda Maximoff and the Vision, respectively. The show, currently in production, also brings back CAPTAIN MARVEL kid character of Monica Rambeau, now an adult played by Teyonnah Parris. In the comics, Rambeau was an iteration of Captain Marvel.
