The Merc With A Mouth Is Coming To The MCU And Still Rated R

With the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by the house that the mouse built, along with eventual addition of the X-Men to the Marvel Cinematic Universe many were wondering about the fate of everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed sexy and scarred hero, Deadpool. Of course his two previous films were R-rated and fully embraced that rating. Well now thanks to Marvel Sudios president, Kevin Feige and an interview from COLLIDER, it has been confirmed that the rating will remain the same when Ryan Reynolds brings the character over to the MCU.

According to Feige, “It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Now even though we are being told that a full DEADPOOL film won’t be happening for some time, there s nothing that says that we may not see Wade Wilson pop up sporadically in the MCU throughout its numerous TV shows and films.

THE NEW MUTANTS SDCC @ HOME Panel

THE NEW MUTANTS panel is moderated by Ira Madison III and brought to everyone via IGN.

Ira introduces first director Josh Boone and then the rest of the cast Maisie Williams, Anna Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Henry Zaga and Blu Hunt.  The cast was first introduced to their characters in emoji form which can be activated via twitter using hashtags.

They are later joined by Bill Sienkiewicz, Eisner award winning artist who was responsible for the art of the characters which we have found out is heavily referenced throughout the movie. He thanks Josh Boone and the cast for their creativity.

When asked by ira about the inspiration for the film and the curse of the Demon Bear, Josh Boone said that he had finished making THE FAULT IN THEIR STARS and always loved the demon bear run in the new mutants. He had been a fan and it stuck out. He talks about how he used to sit with a stack and reading them back in his apartment in LA knowing one day he would make it.

Maisie Williams says she is in love with the fan base from the superhero roles when asked about coming from one massive franchise fan base to another.

Anna Taylor-Joy was asked about excelling at playing misunderstood characters how was it being a more domineering character and how fun was it doing the action scenes. “Yeah big time. Magik was the first character i had that stomped into a room I’ve never experienced that.”

Fans along with contests to enter to win amazing posters were treated to the AMAZING opening scene of the film itself.

Though it was believed that an announcement would have been made about the films instant arrival on streaming, it was instead announced about another contests for fans to attend an advanced screening and the film is still slated for a theatrical release on August 28th of this year.

THE NEW MUTANTS Has A New Release Date

This movie honestly feels as if it is being tortured when it comes to a theatrical release. THE NEW MUTANTS has once again a new release date of August 28, 2020 as announced by 20th Century Studios today.

The film which was shot back in 2017 was originally shot in 2017 was supoosed to first be released  April 13, 2018, before being pushed back 10 months to Feb. 22, 2019, and later moved to Aug. 2, 2019. From there then it was supposed to release on April 3 of this year (2020) but of course COVID-19 changed that.

The Josh Boone directed film was originally set to undergo reshoots but was unable to due to Maisie Williams, GAME OF THRONES shooting schedule. There also were rumors of Jon Hamm being cast as Mr. Sinister but his role was replaced by Benecio Del Toro.

We Have An Update On THE NEW MUTANTS.

newmutants

It has been no secret that many people have either flat out given up on the Josh Boone directed mutant horror film, THE NEW MUTANTS or still hope to see what was at one point a highly anticipated film.

Now Boone himself recently said that the film would be released this year and in its original version. That in itself is worth noting because it is widely known that the film underwent massive reshoots after test screenings to supposedly add more horror to the film. Also additional cast members were added to the project such as Antonio Banderas, who replaced Jon Hamm as a villain in a post credit cameo. Also reshoots were put on hold for an extended period of time due to Maisie Williams then filming schedule with GAME OF THRONES.

Well now that  bit of mystery has been given some clarity with the final film in the 20th Century Fox X-Men saga has arisen. On twitter the official account of the film recently posted with this image.

According to the image On January 6th, 2020 at 6AM (more than likely Pacific time) will be getting a new and final trailer for the film. The official Twitter bio also reflects that the movie will arrive on April 3rd of the this year in theaters.

Check out the first original trailer from back in 2017 and stay tuned for updates on the film.

THE NEW MUTANTS Anya Taylor-Joy (SPLITGLASS), Maisie Williams (GAME OF THRONES), Charlie Heaton (STRANGER THINGS), and Alice Braga (ELYSIUM) star in the film.

THE NEW MUTANTS May Not See Theatrical Daylight And DEADPOOL’S Rating Is A Toss-Up

newmutants

After Disney blamed its third quarter loss on its 20th Century Fox acquisitions including DARK PHOENIX many found themselves wondering if THE NEW MUTANTS which itself has gone through a number of reshoots, actually be released to the public. We now may have our answer.

According to a report from Variety,  Disney is highly  unimpressed with John Boone’s  The New Mutants, and believes it has “limited box office potential” (did they not see the aforementioned DARK PHOENIX).The film is currently set for an April 2020 theatrical release, but, as far as we know, still requires some reshoots. If this is indeed true then do not expect the mouse to enthusiastically  shell out any money into having this happen.

As far as the merc with a mouth, goes Disney is still said to be “grappling” with how to integrate DEADPOOL into the MCU, and is trying to find a way for the character to “move seamlessly between AVENGERS spinoffs and bloody, profane stand-alone adventures.”

deadpooldisney.jpegNow if you want a quick summation of what this may mean, it may be when it comes to assembling with the Avengers, Wade Wilson would be a little more reserved but when it comes to his own solo films its “No F’s Given”.

DARK PHOENIX Official Trailer Is Pretty Much What Was Expected

darkphoenix

Last night the official trailer for Dark Phoenix, the final X-men film under the 20th Century FOX regime dropped last night and as expected it gave off the same vibes in which the first teaser had given off. Those vibes are that of X-men:The Last Stand. With Charles Xavier (now played by James McAvoy) trying to teach Jean Grey (now played by Sophie Turner) how to control her powers. Especially the extra that grows inside of her.

We also get our first look at Jessica Chastain in her mysterious role. But one of the main things that stand out is Jennifer Lawrence. Not to spoil anything just yet but take a look at the trailer for yourself and give your thoughts.

We are also receiving new villains this season including Magpie and the aforementioned Bane played by Shane West. That was a blockbuster announcement

There has been plenty of speculation that West was playing Bane, a role that Tom Hardy portrayed in  The Dark Knight Rises. The news was confirmed today. Along with the confirmation word came out that we are getting a twist on Bane’s origin which will be interesting to see.  It was also revealed that Bane will break Alfred’s back this season,  a big plot point from the comics. However kind of wish thst was not revealed and it was kept a surprise.
