While already making waves in the DC Universe as the voice of Cliff Steele aka Robotman on HBO Max’s DOOM PATROL, it seems that Brendan Fraser is expanding his reach in the world of DC Comics as he is set to join the upcoming HBO MAX movie, BATGIRL starring Leslie Grace.
It has been reported via DEADLINE and their sources, that Fraser is set to take on the role of the supervillain Firefly in the pic. BAD BOYS FOR LIFEdirectors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are helming the film and Christina Hodson (BIRDS OF PREY) wrote the script.
Exact plot details on the film have yet to be released it is known that Lesile Grace will portray Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon, behind the cape in this version. It is not confirmed if whether or not this Barbara Gordon is the daughter of Jim Gordon played by Jeffrey Wright in the upcoming THE BATMAN film starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz and directed by Matt Reeves.
The character of Firefly is a supervillain whose real name is Garfield Lynns most often known for going against Batman and Robin, and sometimes Green Arrow. He is a pyromaniac who became horrendously scarred all over his body after a chemical explosion, leading him to wear a flame proof bodysuit during his crimes. The character was seen in the first season of ARROW on The CW and a female version of the character, Bridgit Pike was introduced in the TV series Gotham.
The film will bow on HBO Max, marking one of the first major DC properties to debut exclusively on the streamer. No release date has been set.
Many people believed that it would NEVER happen and that the worlds of the Arrowverse on The CW and the DC Film Universe would ever intertwine or cross over. Well now that has all been SHATTERED.
In the fourth episode of the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover, the two met as Ezra Miller’s THE FLASH met Grant Gustin’s THE FLASH. This happened as Oliver Queen, now as The Spectre gave Barry Allen a boost in his speed potential and allowed him to run into the speed force. While in there he is taken to the STAR Labs cortex and is met up by Miller.
The two Flashes then jokingly banter back and forth in disbelief before Miller disappears and then Gustin returns to the speed force.
The CW’s flagship superhero show ARROW is set to end this year after its 8th and final season. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is expected to meet his final demise during the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover this season, which will also be the final episode for the show.
But even though Oliver Queen will be gone, the heroics of the Green Arrow will still live on. The CW has set a spin-off that will be headlined by Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy.
The backdoor pilot for the upcoming series will be set as an episode during the upcoming final season of ARROW. The new superhero show is set to follow Mia Smoak (McNamara) as the new Green Arrow as well as the Canaries, Laurel Lance (Cassidy) and Dinah Drake (Harkavy).
This is not the first time that ARROW has been utilized to give shows in the arrowverse a backdoor pilot. This was the case with THE FLASH.
No date has yet been given for the airing of the upcoming spin-off series.
Last time we saw Willa Holland as Thea Queen in ARROW, she appeared as a talking head during the Oliver Queen/Green Arrow documentary in season 7. Now it has been confirmed that she will return as in a recurring role for the 8th and final season.
Full details as to what capacity in which she will return has not been revealed but showrunner Beth Schwartz has expressed her excitement, “We are thrilled to have Willa back in our final season.”
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, its……Brandon Routh showing off a preview of the Superman emblem he will rock during the Arrowverse CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover later this year.
It had recently been announced that Routh who currently plays Dr.Ray Palmer/The Atom would be donning the “S” on his chest and the Kingdom Come version of Superman while Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his Superman character from SUPERGIRL. To see Routh rip open his outer shirt with a t-shirt was such a great treat for the crowd in attendance in Ballroom 20.
Now the question is will The Atom and Routh’s Superman come face to face.
It is less than a month away until the 50th anniversary of San Diego Comic Con is upon us. One of the notable things will be the heavy WBTV presence throughout Ballroom 20. With that one of the focuses will be be that of the CW’s Arrowverse.
The reason for this is not only will it be the eighth and final season of ARROW but also is the mega CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover. This will bring together BATWOMAN, ARROW, THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and no one is sure yet if BLACK LIGHTNING will fall into the fray.
We dont know fully what to expect yet in regards to the crossover or their respective shows but it seems as though we may have a bit of a tease from Arrowverse executive consultant and former ARROW showrunner Marc Guggenheim. Guggenheim took to Twitter to tease of the potential Crisis-size announcement.
Loving these so much. Everyone is hard at work already — the earliest start we've ever gotten on the crossovers — to make this as big and epic and FUN as we can conceivably manage. Don't be surprised if we announce something pretty cool at SDCC… https://t.co/70D6r9x21a

There had been much speculation as to who Idris Elba would be portraying in James Gunn reboot/sequel THE SUICIDE SQUAD. Now it seems as if the guessing game is over as it is being reported that Elba will be Brock Turner a.k.a BRONZE TIGER.
Forbes is reporting the character for the British actor. now Bronze Tiger has already been seen within the DC television universe. He is portrayed by Michael Jai White in Arrow and he is known for being a member of Task Force X also known as the Suicide Squad. Turner is also one of the greatest martial artists in the DC Universe, a member of the League of Assassins, and has something of a frenemy relationship with Deathstroke.
Now of course there will be a Deathstroke in the DC Universe TITANS season 2 but the merc was portrayed by Joe Manganiello in JUSTICE LEAGUE.
Idris Elba can be seen this summer in the upcoming HOBBS AND SHAW film with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.
THE SUICIDE SQUAD is set to hit theaters in August 2021
All good things must inevitably come to an end. One of those good things (not to everyone) the reason for the CW’s Arrowverse, Arrowis going to end with its eighth season which will be a 10 episode season. Most seasons have had 23 episodes.
The news was broken by the Green Arrow himself, Stephen Amell via twitter.
Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life… but you can’t be a vigilante forever.
Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall.
There’s so much to say… for now I just want to say thank you.
Arrowhas had an extensive run and introduced many characters from the DC Comics Universe. It has also spawned to series in both THE FLASHand DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. The show has also faced criticism from many critics and fans as well throughout various seasons.
Let us know you’re thoughts and if you will be sad or excited to see the show leave.
Many people were wondering if whether or not John Barrowman would return to the Arrowverse. The last time he was seen was on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as part of the Legion of Doom (Damien Dahrk and Eobard Thawne). So it was uncertain if he would ever return.
It seems as if we have our answers to that question. During a recent appearance at Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo in Brisbane, Australia, actor John Barrowman confirmed that he would be reprising his role as Malcolm Merlyn sometime in season 7 of The CW’s Arrow. Where exactly would the former Demon’s Head and Dark Archer would appear has yet to be announced.
Where do you think that Merlyn will return? Give your thoughts and let us know.
