BRENDAN FRASER To Portray FIREFLY In Upcoming BATGIRL Movie

While already making waves in the DC Universe as the voice of Cliff Steele aka Robotman on HBO Max’s DOOM PATROL, it seems that Brendan Fraser is expanding his reach in the world of DC Comics as he is set to join the upcoming HBO MAX movie, BATGIRL starring Leslie Grace. 

It has been reported via DEADLINE and their sources, that Fraser is set to take on the role of the supervillain Firefly in the pic.  BAD BOYS FOR LIFE directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are helming the film and Christina Hodson (BIRDS OF PREY) wrote the script.

Exact plot details on the film have yet to be released it is known that Lesile Grace will portray Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon,  behind the cape in this version. It is not confirmed if whether or not this Barbara Gordon is the daughter of Jim Gordon played by Jeffrey Wright in the upcoming THE BATMAN film starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz and directed by Matt Reeves. 

The character of Firefly is a supervillain whose real name is Garfield Lynns most often known for going against Batman and Robin, and sometimes Green Arrow. He is a pyromaniac who became horrendously scarred all over his body after a chemical explosion, leading him to wear a flame proof bodysuit during his crimes. The character was seen in the first season of ARROW on The CW and a female version of the character, Bridgit Pike  was introduced in the TV series Gotham.

The film will bow on HBO Max, marking one of the first major DC properties to debut exclusively on the streamer. No release date has been set.

Elizabeth Hurley Is Bewitching Her Way Into MARVEL’S RUNAWAYS On HULU

Elizabeth Hurley  is bringing some ROYAL, BEWITCHING dark magic to Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu in the Season 3 as Morgan Le Fey, a sorceress with considerable history and even greater power.

The character description being given by the Runaways producers: “Morgan le Fay is an iconic Marvel villain. A student of Merlin, she is considered the greatest sorceress of all time. With a black crow as her familiar and the ability to enchant objects, manipulate mystic energy and astral project, she is powerful and intelligent with a cutthroat wit.”

With magic being a major part of the series the group of teens seem to now have twice as much to battle with.

Hurley played the royal of Queen Helena on The Royals (2015-2018) and  next year she will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of BEWITCHED that she co-starred with DOOM PATROL’s Brendan Fraser as the Devil.

Brendan Fraser Cast As Robotman In Doom Patrol

The Doom Patrol just got a little bit more interesting in this casting. Brendan Fraser is coming on board to the upcoming series on the DC Universe streaming site in the role of Cliff Steele aka Robotman.

Cliff Steele is a former race car driver who was in a horrific accident that left his body uninhabitable. Cliff’s brain was saved by the mysterious Dr. Caulder and he lives on in a powerful robotic body.

Fraser will provide the voiceover for Robotman and will appear in flashback scenes as Cliff Steele. Riley Shanahan has also been cast in the role of Robotman. He will provide the physical performance of the character on stage in full body costume.

The announcement of Fraser is just another notch up into the amazing cast that has already been revealed. This includes Joivan Wade as Cyborg, who brings the team together and Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby) and Crazy Jane (Guerrero).  Along with Negative Man they are led by the mysterious Dr. Niles Caulder.
