Earlier this week it was announced that Sony pictures was going to be adding another villain to the Andy Serkis directed sequel, VENOM 2. It was said that casting had begun for the role but not it is being revealed as to whom is in contention.

According to Variety, Academy Award winner, Naomie Harris is in talks to talk on the role of Woody Harrelson’s, Carnage’s girlfriend, Shriek.  If the casting becomes official the duo will more than likely pair up to take on Tom Hardy in the title character role.

VENOM 2 Adds Another Villain To Give The Anti-Hero Trouble

Venom

We already know that Carnage played by Woody Harrelson will be the main villain in the Andy Serkis directed sequel VENOM 2. Now we are finding out that symbiote wielding serial killer will have company.

Shriek from the comics has been incorporated into the plot of the Venom sequel which due in theaters on Oct. 2, 2020. This makes perfect sense because of Shriek’s history  as the sonic-powered accomplice and romantic interest of serial killer Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage. It will be interesting to see the two of them torment Tom Hardy’s anti-hero, Venom

A little bit of backstory on Shriek she was a drug dealer named Frances Barrison  who became the volatile Shriek after severe trauma allow her latent mutant powers to emerge. In the comics, those powers include sonic energy blasts, flight, and the ability to stir up dark and violent emotions in others.

Following the success of Sony’s Venom, it seems it’s a safe bet to say that ALL systems are go on the sequel.

(SPOILER ALERT!!)

At the end of Venom, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy Hardy) goes to San Quentin prison to interview serial killer Cleatus Kassidy played by Woody Harrelson utters the line,  “There will be Carnage”. Which was followed by a sadistic grin and laugh.

This poster was released showing Harrelson covered in half of his iconic red symbiote similar to that of Brock’s and it honestly is extremely exciting.

Are We Officially Getting Carnage In The Venom Film?

One of the biggest discussions was, would Carnage show up in Sony’s upcoming solo Venom film. Many began to believe that when Riz Ahmed was added to the cast that he may be portraying the sadistic symbiotic killer.

Those rumors were kind of quelled when it was became assumed the the Life Foundation from the Venom Lethal Protector series may play a significant role and therefore may be getting the five other symbiotes, Scream, Phage, Riot, Lasher, and Agony.

But now lets queue up the rumor mill again as Tom Hardy has posted and subsequently DELETED  a picture to his instagram which shows the psycho killer front and center.

Given that he deleted the pic do you think that Carnage is actually in the film? Do you think it still may be Riz Ahmed who portrays him? Do you think Venom will have to battle against 6 symbiotes? Let us know what you think?

Carnage Is Said To Be The Villian in Solo VENOM Movie

Well if the movie thats happening already doesn’t make much sense, where here’s more to add on to it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock will be facing off against Carnage. In the comics, Carnage is a symbiote, just like Venom, who attached to Brock’s prison cellmate, serial killer Cletus Kassidy.

As the story goes after Brock manages to escape prison by using the symbiote, some of it was left behind and attached to Kassidy, transforming him into Carnage. Carnage’s powers include shapeshifting, physical strength that’s more powerful than Venom and Spider-Man combined, and the ability to plant thoughts into people’s minds. Carnage is also more accepting and bonded with his symbiote and uses the term “I” as opposed to Brock who still is two separate entities.

The Hollywood Reporter has also heard that, even though Spider-Man star Tom Holland is only contractually obligated to Spider-Man 2 and 3, the plan is to still bring him into the spinoffs films, like Venom, as well as potentially other Marvel movies. Which let’s all be honest would only make ALL of the sense in the world.

Venom will open in theaters on October 5, 2018, with Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer set to direct. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal are producing the film. Reports suggest Venom will be of the action, horror, and sci-fi genres. Who would you like to see play the role of the Serial Super Killer opposite Tom Hardy?

“Hamilton” creator wants to be apart of the MCU

The man at the center of one of many Twitter wars with the President-Elect now wants to potentially go to war with some of the Earth’s Mightiest heroes .

Lin-Manuel Miranda the creator of the hit play “Hamilton: An American Musical” has said on the podcast Meet The Movie Press reveals that he apparently really wants to play Carnage. “He said if Disney and Marvel were looking at doing a Maximum Carnage movie or bringing Carnage in as a character, he wants to be Carnage,” co-host Simon Thompson explained. “That’s a goal of his.” It’s somewhat hard to imagine the often jolly Miranda playing the crazy, murderous Cletus Kasady, but perhaps his wish is derived from fandom and a desire to stretch his acting muscles.

Miranda now is deeply embedded in the Disney machine, so if he wants a part in a Marvel movie it might not be that hard to get one. (We’re imagining this could be orchestrated with just a quick call from John Lasseter to Kevin Feige.) In fact, it’s almost surprising, come to think of it, that he wasn’t cast as a cool teacher in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which has enlisted every other Internet fave.

I know we here at the Trusty Sidekick would love to see that. What about you all?
