The Night Nurse will be back to help patch up a couple of New York defenders in their upcoming individual series. Rosario Dawson is set to reprise her role as Claire Temple in both Daredevil season 3 and Iron Fist season 2. Both series are currently filming in New York.
Dawson has been present in all of the Marvel heroes Netflix shows except for The Punisher. She was last seen in the mini-series The Defenders which brought together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist using her skills along side Danny Rand and Colleen Wing.
Claire better known in the comics as the “Night Nurse” is a former nurse who helps aid the heroes when they have taken a bad beating. If she is returning that means more injuries for our heroes that hospitals wont get the chance to deal with.
Iron Fist and Daredevil have no release dates as of yet but are set to return to Netflix sometime in 2018.
It seems that the “controversy” and negative criticism isn’t derailing the Marvel’s street level heroes train anytime soon. Netflix has officially renewed Iron Fist for a second season as news is coming out of Comic-con in San Diego.
Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb made the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday. In addition, Loeb hinted that Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) would team up with NYPD detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick), who first appeared in Season 1 of “Luke Cage.” The characters previously partnered together in the Marvel comic books.
“Iron Fist” stars “Game of Thrones” alum Finn Jones as Danny Rand, the heir to the multi-billion dollar Rand Corp. who returns to New York after training for years in the mysterious city of K’un-Lun. Through his training, he was chosen to be the living weapon known as the Iron Fist, which allows him to channel his chi energy into his fists.
In addition to Jones and Henwick, the series also starred Rosario Dawson, who has appeared as nurse Claire Temple in all of the Marvel-Netflix shows to date. Season 1 also starred Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, David Wenham, and Wai Ching Ho.
“Iron Fist” was the fourth Marvel-Netflix series to be released. The show was preceded by “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” and “Luke Cage.” All four main characters will then team up for “The Defenders” event series, which will debut on Netflix on Aug. 18. In addition, Netflix has ordered a spinoff based on “The Punisher,” with Jon Bernthal reprising the title role, which he originated in Season 2 of “Daredevil.”
Well it’s no longer just a teaser, we have an official trailer for the upcoming Netflix series Marvel’s The Defenders and we get kind of an idea how somethings come together.
We open with Det. Misty Knight interrogating Jessica Jones about interfering in a police case resulting in someone’s death until she is interrupted by her “new attorney” in Matt Murdock (Daredevil). From there we see a freed from prison Luke Cage who reconnects with Claire Temple who tells him he should meet someone, who turns out to be Danny Rand stopping an assailant in an alley.
From there many interactions happen including Danny attempting to use the Iron Fist on Luke to no avail and a voice over monologue from Stick, Daredevil’s old teacher, talking how the four need to work together in “the battle for New York”. We even see Electra in the Hand’s mysterious Resurrection drum.
In this trailer we also get our first real look into Sigourney Weaver’s “Alexandria” Adnan yet still don’t know much more about her but what we she is she is surrounded by what can be assumed to be members of the Hand.
There is SO MUCH MORE but we want you to check out the the trailer before for yourself and let us know does this get you excited for the August premiere.
Well it seems as if every one is not on board with the final defender making his arrival. The criticism for Marvel’s previous Netflix shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage has been minimal at best. However that has all changed with the early reviews for the upcoming Iron Fist series.
In an interview with Metro, star Finn Jones who plays the title character, weighs in on those reviews and made it clear that it’s a series he believes comic book fans will love.
“Well I think there’s multiple factors. What I will say is these shows are not made for critics, they are first and foremost made for the fans. I also think some of the reviews we saw were seeing the show through a very specific lens, and I think when the fans of the Marvel Netflix world and fans of the comic books view the show through the lens of just wanting to enjoy a superhero show, then they will really enjoy what they see. I think it’s a fantastic show which is really fun and I think it stands up there with the other Defenders’ shows without a doubt.”
It’s important to note that critics only saw the first six episodes of Iron Fist and that the next seven could tie things together in a way which make the show one of Marvel’s best; right now, it’s as if people have seen half of a film and already written their reviews! There’s no getting around the fact that most didn’t like what they saw in those six epiosode, though it’s not like it’s been really torn apart.
The anticipation continues to grow. First there was just a teaser now we have a full on trailer for the upcoming “Iron Fist” Netflix series.
The series that follows Danny Rand as he’s been gone for years after surviving a plane crash that took his parents from him Presumed dead, Rand trains in martial arts in the otherworldly realm of K’un-Lun, eventually returning to New York to take his rightful place at Rand Enterprises. While back at the company his father built, Rand must root out corruption within.
That corruption appears to include a shadowy presence in the form of Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), who first appeared in the Marvel/Netflix universe as a foe to Daredevil. In “Daredevil’s” first season, Madame Gao showcased supernatural martial-arts ability in a brief encounter against Daredevil. In the “Iron Fist” trailer, she whispers from the dark that New York is no place for Danny Rand. A showdown between her and Iron Fist seems imminent.
