BATWOMAN Adds Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson and Nicole Kang to CW Pilot Episode

batwoman

It was recently announced that the pilot for the Ruby Rose led Batwoman was given the go order and now it seems the train is full steam ahead with these recent casting announcements.

Meagan Tandy (Teen Wolf), Camrus Johnson (Luke Cage)and Nicole Kang (You) have been cast in lead roles opposite Ruby Rose in the upcoming DC television series. The roles in which each will be portraying are amazing as well.

Tandy will play Sophie Moore. After graduating from military academy, Sophie rose through the ranks to become a high-level private security agent and one of Gotham’s staunchest protectors. Despite her bite and regimented outlook, Sophie has a soft side, illuminated by Kate Kane’s return. Where Johnson will portray Luke Fox. A Dark Knight loyalist and son of Wayne’s R&D director Lucius Fox, Luke works to keep Wayne Tower secure in his boss’s absence. While Luke considers himself the guardian of all things Batman — specifically his symbol — he also recognizes the city’s need for a new hero. Finally, Kang is Mary Hamilton. Excitable, talkative, and an influencer-in-the-making, Mary is Kate Kane’s step-sister and polar opposite. But what Mary lacks in a filter, she makes up for with her compassion for Gotham’s underserved communities, proving she has more in common with Kate than she thinks.

No word as to who will be Kate Kane’s main adversary in Gotham as she takes up the mantle to become the city’s newest symbol of hope.

ELSEWORLDS Is Taking The Arrowverse Into An Infinite Crisis

IMG_20180926_172819

Last night was the finale of the Annual Arrowverse crossover. This year’s theme was ELSEWORLDS  and throughout all three episodes the running theme was The Monitor (Lamonica Garrett) telling that a “Crisis was coming”. Well we now know what that is leading to as it was teased in the finale of the crossover on Supergirl.

Check out the teaser below

Yes, we are getting the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline. Which officially connects several items mentioned throughout The Flash. We have seen the news paper article since season 1 that talks about the Flash missing and vanishing in a “crisis”.

Also how in this current season, Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) mentions about how the Flash went missing.  Clearly when it comes to the crossover next year, Psycho Pirate will play a key role with Doctor Deegan as he is the one that utters to Deegan in Arkham, ” Worlds will live, Worlds will Die and the universe will never be the same.”

Are you excited for the potential culmination of all of the breaches, crossovers and maybe in the inclusion of ALL of the DC television heroes that may include both Black Lightning and Titans possibly even Doom Patrol?

Erika Alexander Joins The Cast Of BLACK LIGHTNING Season Two

perenna

Between the regular cast returning, the addition of Jordan Calloway as a series regular and the special guests this second season of Black Lightning is definitely going to be “LIT”.

Actress, writer, producer and activist Erika Alexander (Living Single, The Cosby Show, Get Out) has come aboard the sophomore season of Black Lightning  in a reoccurring role. he will play Perenna, a therapist with telepathic abilities who is trying to help Jennifer (series star China Anne McClain) acclimate to her manifesting powers and the emotions that go along with them. Alexander is currently slated to appear in three episodes.

For those who are a fan of the DC comics will know that this sounds like the character of “Looker” aka Emily “Lia” Briggs.  Now Emily was a mousy bank teller until she discovered that she was descended from a race of subterranean beings.  She gained the abilities of telepathy and telekinesis and she became more conventionally attractive.  Yes, you read that correctly one of her superpowers is hotness.  She later became a vampire.

The biggest difference between the description of “Perenna” and Looker is their age.  Perenna is clearly meant to be older, between 40-50.  Possibly they could be altering the character for the show which would not be new at all to the characters in the CW/DC universe.  Then there is always the possibility that this could be another telepath or even a brand new character.

Black Lightning returns Tuesday, October 9th on The CW

Black Lightning Season 2 Poster Promises HIGH VOLTAGE ACTION

IMG_20180830_102203

The first poster to promote the second season of Black Lightning has dropped and it promises to deliver “High Voltage Action”.

Prominent in the poster is Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce aka Black Lightning along with his two daughters, Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) aka Thunder and Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain) aka Lightning, his ex-wife Lynn Pierce (Christine Adams) and his rival Tobias Whale (Marvin Jones III aka ‘Krondon’).

Another interesting thing is that it seems as if Black Lightning has a new superhero uniform. It seems more streamline as opposed to season ones suit. Many however are still waiting to see if Jennifer will officially suit up at Lightning in the sophomore season.

Black Lightning returns to the CW on Tuesday October 9th.

Another OUTSIDER May Be Coming to Black Lightning Season Two

Season one of Black Lightning already electrified the world with its successful debut on the CW. It is only right that the anticipation for season two is just as high. One of great easter eggs that were featured in the first season is the potential arrival of The Outsiders.  The Outsiders are a group in the DC Comics were brought together by Batman and originally included,  Batman, Black Lightning, Metamorpho, Geo-Force, Katana, Halo and Looker. With the introduction of Project Greenlight as Grace Choi it seemed almost inevitable that the super hero crew in some sort of incarnation (without Batman of course) would be making their arrival to the CW.

Now that is seemingly becoming more of a reality. According to That Hashtag Show, who got hold of a character breakdown, the hero Looker will appear as “a recurring guest star.”

The show is reportedly looking to find a “Caucasian actress in her early 20s” to play the “youthful looking woman with a soul that has lived for a long time, whose eyes are ethereal and whose look is penetrating.” This breakdown doesn’t tell us if the metahuman will be friend or foe but it definitely seems as if the live action version like her comic book version will be a vampire.

Leave your thoughts on this potential addition to the second season of Black Lightning.

Sam Witwer Cast as Agent Liberty in ‘Supergirl’ Season 4

samwitwer.jpg

Supergirl is currently in production of its fourth season and a major casting announcement has been revealed.

Sam Witwer, known for portraying Doomsday in Smallville and the voice of Darth Maul in the Star Wars universe (minus The Phantom Menace) has been cast in the Arrowverse show as Agent Liberty who is the founder and the figurehead of the Children of Liberty – a hate group whose goal is a human first order.

After the previous events of the show where the citizens of National City and the world discovered the existence of aliens living among them, the usage of this character and this story line will be very interesting. What makes this character even more dastardly, is even with the level of hate speech he tries to portray himself as a loving family man.

Supergirl returns on a new night Sunday October 14th 8/7c on the CW.
