Today is SUPERBOWL LV and as expected we are going to receive a variety of highly anticipated commercials, teasers and trailers.
Well Marvel Studios gave us the first one many were excited for in the upcoming Disney Plus series THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.
Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience. Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, the series also stars Daniel Brühl as Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.
Check it out below and catch the next installment into Marvel Studios television when it debuts on March 19.
In a major story just dropped by THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, it is being reported that Ethan Hawke ( TRAINING DAY, BOYHOOD, THE PURGE SERIES) has signed on to be the main antagonist for Marvel Studios MOON KNIGHT on Disney + starring Oscar Isaac.
It is not yet reported exactly who Hawke will be portraying in the series but in the comics Moon Knight’s archnemesis is considered a villain named Bushman, a fellow mercenary who turned on the hero when Egyptian gold came into the picture.
May Calamawy, who is perhaps best known for her work in Hulu’s Ramy, has also been added to the cast which is set to begin production in March in Budapest.
For those unfamiliar with the titular hero of the series, Moon Knight has had several incarnations over the decades since his debut in 1975, from being an ex-Marine-turned-mercenary with multiple alter egos to being a conduit to conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, to most recently a dapper-dressed consultant. An aspect to the stories in the modern comics era has been tackling the mental illness of multiple personalities.
Mohamed Diab, the Egyptian helmer behind Middle Eastern drama CLASH, and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, indie genre filmmaking team behind sci-fi horror movies THE ENDLESSand SYNCHRONIC, are directing the show.
After much speculation that the upcoming MCU Disney+ show would debut on the streaming platform before the end of the year, it has now been confirmed that will not happen as WANDAVISION will arrive on January 15,2021.
WANDAVISION is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems. The new series is directed by Matt Shakman; Jac Schaeffer is head writer.
Much is expected of this new installment into the MCU as we will see Teyonnah Parris play a grown up Monica Rambeau to whom we were introduced to as a young girl in CAPTAIN MARVEL, Kathryn Hahn as the nosy neighbor (who many believe she is actually Agatha Harkness), Randall Park who reprises his ANT-MAN & THE WASP role of Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings bringing back her THOR: THE DARK WORLD role as Darcy Lewis and more.
After months of speculations as to who would be stepping into the main role of one of Marvel’s “unique” heroes, we know know who that will be thanks to DEADLINE. Oscar Isaac (formerly of STAR WARS) is set to head into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is in negotiations to star as MOON KNIGHT in the Marvel and Disney+ series based on the comic book hero.
Some back story on MOON KNIGHT for those who may be unfamiliar, MOON KNIGHT aka Marc Spector, is a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, the character was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight.
Marvel and Disney+ will now look to attach a director to the series. No production start date has been set. Jeremy Slater, who developed and wrote Netflix’s comic book adaptation of the UMBRELLA ACADEMY series, has been tapped to develop and lead the writing team on the series for the streamer.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is becoming more expansive with its upcoming Disney + series. WANDAVISION is set to arrive on the streamer later this year, THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER will arrive either this year or beginning of next. Then new casting announcements for having ramping up there future slate of development, Tatiana Maslany, who was recently tapped to play She-Hulk, and Iman Vellani, who was named the new Ms. Marvel.LOKI starring Tom Hiddleston and HAWKEYE which follows Kate Bishop.
After the post credit scene in SPIDER-MAN:FAR FROM HOME many wondered when would be the next time we would see Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While we can assume that it will be in the upcoming BLACK WIDOW film we now know thanks to Variety that the former head of S.H.I.E.L.D will be appearing in a series currently in development at Disney Plus.
The project is in its early stages and details are being kept under wraps, but according to the trade Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot) will write and executive produce and should the project be ordered to series, it would be Jackson’s first series regular television role.
He has recurred as Col. Fury on MARVEL’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D on ABC.
Jackson had initially signed a nine film deal to appear throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe which began with IRON MAN and as of most recently the aforementioned SPIDER-MAN:FAR FROM HOME, AVENGERS ENDGAME and CAPTAIN MARVEL (where we finally found out how Fury lost his eye and was required to wear the eyepatch).
Now we officially know who be playing the titular role in the upcoming Marvel Studios SHE-HULK series on Disney Plus. ORPHAN BLACK & PERRY MASON star Tatiana Maslany will get gamma-rayed out for the superhero series thanks to an exclusive by DEADLINE.
She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out.
Maslany also becomes the latest female talent to lead a Marvel movie following in the footsteps of Brie Larson in CAPTAIN MARVEL and Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming BLACK WIDOW movie. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has made it his mission to diversify the MCU and this latest addition to the universe does just that.
SHE-HULK which is coming to the Disney plus streaming platform has its lead writer in RICK AND MORTY scribe, Jessica Gao and now it has a director of multiple episodes who will also serve as executive producer in Kat Coiro.
Coiro’s next film is MARRY ME which hits theaters Valentine’s day weekend of 2021 The movie stars Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson and Sarah Silverman as well as music sensation Maluma in his first ever on screen role.
She-Hulk’s alter-ego if you will is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out. Disney plus has yet to cast anyone to play the lead character. They have noted that they want an “Allison Brie like character” but have not cast Allison Brie….as of yet.
Along with having her new film set to arrive next year, Coiro is no stranger to directing television. She has also directed numerous television shows including: Netflix’s DEAD TO ME, Showtime’s SHAMELESS and FX’s: IT’s ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA and more.
THE NEW MUTANTS has is panel at this years SDCC @ Home and while there is many speculation that is to come namely will the film be officially released after the panel on Disney Plus but something new has arisen.
There are now official New Mutants hashtags on Twitter. Each includes its own emoji (even though not shown in this picture)

Along with the pair another director will get a string for a block, Rhys Thomas, who has also directed Amazon’s COMRADE DETECTIVE, STATEN ISLAND SUMMER and SNL. HAWKEYE is part of the first wave of Marvel shows that was due to hit Disney+ starting in fall 2020. The first show was to have been THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, but the series has been delayed to the coronavirus pandemic affecting production. Other shows include WANDAVISION(spring 2021, if things go as planned), LOKI (also spring 2021),thenHAWKEYE . Each series will see the stars of their MCU films reprising their respective roles.
Jeremy Renner, who played the role in the big-screen films, will be reprising Clint Barton, who first made his comic debut back in 1964’s Tales of Suspense #57. Last year the leader of the Bey-hive and Grammy award winning artist, Beyonce voiced Nala in the live-action remake of THE LION KING, now it seems that she may be sticking around the Disney family. Thanks to a new report from Elle now claims that Beyonce has signed a $100 million deal with Disney and is to keep her in the midst for a foreseeable future.
Here is the best part this is going to reportedly lead to Beyonce being involved with Black Panther 2 in some capacity, likely providing a song for the film’s soundtrack as opposed to an on-screen role of any sort.
Beyonce is said to be “a major player” for the mouse, with hopes she will lend her voice to some upcoming documentaries on Disney+ as well. “The negotiations are still ongoing but it’s the final details that are being thrashed out now,” the site’s sources claim.
2018’s BLACK PANTHER was masterful having been curated by another Grammy award winning artist in Kendrick Lamar, so it only makes sense Disney would enlist an superstar talent like Beyonce to lend her musical skills to Ryan Coogler’s hotly anticipated sequel. The question now beckons should be an on screen talent as well who would she portray.
