GAMES PEOPLE PLAY Star Karen Obilom Joins DOOM PATROL Season 2

doom patrol

Season one of DOOM PATROL on the DC Universe took the world by storm. With interesting characters, adult humor and so much more, when the season ended people have been chomping at the bit for the second season. This is especially since TITANS has already aired its 2nd season and currently filming its third.

Now there is some exciting casting news coming out about the team of doomed souls (Abigail Shapiro will play Dorothy Spinner) and this announcement has a major connection to one of the not so likely heroes.

Karen Obilom (GAMES PEOPLE PLAY)  has landed a recurring role as Roni Evers according to DEADLINE.  Evers is reportedly “a military veteran with a mysterious past who Vic Stone/Cyborg (Wade) meets while attending a PTSD support group.”

It seems that the two characters may start off bonding over their traumatic experiences, and it will eventually go wrong. Obilom appears to be playing a gender-bent version of Ronald Evers, a character that eventually becomes one of Cyborg’s foes and a cyborg himself.

DOOM PATROL season 2 does not currently have a premiere date, but Diane Guerrero, Brendan Frasier, Jovian Wade, Timothy Dalton, April Bowlby, and Matt Bomer have been confirmed to return.

Doom Patrol Now Has Its Cyborg In Joivan Wade

We now know who will play the critical role of Cyborg in the DC Universes, Doom Patrol. Joivan Wade (The First Purge) will be portraying Victor Stone a.k.a Cyborg who brings together the unlikely group of heroes.

The breakdown for Wade’s Cyborg is “charming and sarcastic, Vic may be connected to every computer on the world, but he struggles to maintain the connections that make him human. Desperate to gain acceptance from the outside world, Vic harnesses the curse of his cybernetic body and uses his powers as the ultimate hero for the digital age.” This is pretty much canon when it comes to the character of Cyborg in the comics and even briefly is the Justice League film.

There is not much about the overall synopsis of the show’s first season on DC’s new streaming service. But what we do have a brief one into Cyborg.  Cyborg will have an integral role to play throughout the series as he recruits the five reluctant, borderline outcast, heroes and offers them a mission that will prove to be hard to refuse and that promises to take them to the weirdest and most unexpected corners of the DC universe, although it will also come with a warning that the fivesome would be foolish to ignore.
