Almost a week ago to the day Netflix and Marvel announced that they had cancelled Iron Fist after two seasons, today Daredevil dropped it’s third season and now today the announcement had been made that they are cancelling the bulletproof hero of Harlem, Luke Cage.

CUnfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season,” said Marvel and the streaming service on Friday. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

Reports are coming out that the announcement even shocked showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker who was assembling together his writing team.

Rumors will soon begin to swirl as what this will mean for the collective Heroes For Hire (Luke Cage and Iron Fist) and will their shows see some type of resurgence on the upcoming Disney streaming platform.

Clearly, she’s back in action by the time she appears in Luke Cage season 2 — and thank you to EW for the exclusive first look at the NYPD detective sporting her high-tech enhancement alongside Luke (Mike Colter) and his unbreakable skin.

It doesn’t seem to be slowing down or stopping for unbreakable Power Man more affectionately known as Luke Cage.

Now first this summer Luke will join forces with Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand in Marvel’s The Defenders on Netflix and now production has begun on Season 2 of the highly popular series.

In the usual Marvel fashion we have no idea what’s going to happen in season two, but star Mike Colter has said it may deal with Luke’s public identity as the bulletproof hero of Harlem. And there has to be some effect from what happens in The Defenders.

We have a “Defenders” trailer

marvel-the-defenders-netflix-team

Well it’s no longer just a teaser, we have an official trailer for the upcoming Netflix series Marvel’s The Defenders and we get kind of an idea how somethings come together.

We open with Det. Misty Knight interrogating Jessica Jones about interfering in a police case resulting in someone’s death until she is interrupted by her “new attorney” in Matt Murdock  (Daredevil). From there we see a freed from prison Luke Cage who reconnects with Claire Temple who tells him he should meet someone, who turns out to be Danny Rand stopping an assailant in an alley.

From there many interactions happen including Danny attempting to use the Iron Fist on Luke to no avail and a voice over monologue from Stick, Daredevil’s old teacher, talking how the four need to work together in “the battle for New York”. We even see Electra in the Hand’s mysterious Resurrection drum.

In this trailer we also get our first real look into Sigourney Weaver’s “Alexandria” Adnan yet still don’t know much more about her but what we she is she is surrounded by what can be assumed to be members of the Hand.

There is SO MUCH MORE but we want you to check out the the trailer before for yourself and let us know does this get you excited for the August premiere.

Lukecage

With less than a month to go to the release of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel has decided to give the world a bit of a teaser treat. They have released an official clip that shows the POWER MAN in action.   The clip shows that there is a “funny” side to having indestructible skin.

The entire series is available on Netflix on September 30.

Marvel’s “Luke Cage” Trailer is EVERYTHING

LukecageThe latest trailer for the next highly anticipated superhero has been released to the public.  Netflix’s forthcoming Luke Cage. Viewers are already very familiar with Mike Colter’s contemplative (and somewhat reluctant) uptown hero, thanks to Luke’s scene-stealing, stomach-sawing turn in last year’s Jessica Jones. This extended look at Cage’s solo series, which premieres Sept. 30, is awash in beloved characters (including Mahershala Al as baddie Cottonmouth, and Rosario Dawson as Marvel mainstay Claire Temple/Night Nurse); quick nods to such Black-culture icons as Walter Mosley and Notorious B.I.G.; and, of course, lots of body-tossing, door-busting, goon-punching, bullet-defying action. “I just want to be left the hell alone,” Cage says at one point. But we have a feeling that, come next month, everyone going to be on the lookout for Luke Cage—and for Luke Cage
