We Have A New Mutants Teaser That Is Filled With Magik

The New Mutants sets to be one of the hottest if not interesting films of 2018. This R-rated horror take on a group of teens discovering they have special abilities has had many in the comic book movie and tv world alike in spin waiting on the final project.

First we got an trailer now we are getting more teasers. This one features Anna Taylor-Joy as Magik. Just in case you needed a small refresher, Magik, is the sister of Peter Rasputin/Colossus from Deadpool and other X-Men films, possesses mystical abilities (as her name might suggest). She can also use her powers for teleportation.

Casting Is Still Happening for NEW MUTANTS Movie

Josh Boone and the production crew behind the upcoming NEW MUTANTS movie are beefing up their casting and adding more to the already anticipated cast.

The Main cast has already been assembled for New Mutants, with Magik, Sunspot, Mirage, Cannonball, Wolfsbane and Warlock making up the roster of young heroes. But now an casting announcement may open up the idea of another founding team member being added to the film.

A casting call has surfaced over at Project Casting (via Omega Underground), and in addition to what is almost certainly a call for an actress to play a younger version of Illyana Rasputin, AKA Magik, it may also suggest that Boone is seeking someone to portray Xi’an Coy Manh, aka Karma:

SEEKING: [These are principal roles…]

YOUNG ANNA – Female, 9 – 12; preferably blonde, or willing to temporary color; Russian accent or Russian language skills.

YOUNG FEMALE – 18 to 22 years old; Asian Scheduled to shoot in MA for one or more days between 7/20 and 8/16.

Of course, Karma is not the only possibility – there’s potential that it could be Hisako Ichiki/Armor, for example – but nonetheless the fact that it’s a “principal role” does make it a pretty good bet.
