The man who was a big contributing factor to Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) by directing the first two Iron Man films and executive producing the first two Avengers films is back in the game and its not how you may be expecting.
No, there hasn’t been an OFFICIAL announcement of Iron Man 4 with Favreau possibly at the helm BUT is is returning as the Happy Hogan character in the upcoming Spiderman:Homecoming movie.
Jon Favreau portrayed the character, who’s described as Tony Stark’s bodyguard, friend, and chauffeur in the entire Iron Man trilogy. Since Robert Downey, Jr.’s character has already been confirmed for the Jon Watts venture, Happy’s return is basically two plus two and I am not talking about NEW MATH.
Favreau already revealed in an interview with IGN a few months ago that he loved Tom Holland’s webslinger in Captain America: Civil War. He said that the character made him “smile every second” he was on the screen. He also loved the version of Tony Stark he saw in those scenes with Peter Parker.
Spiderman:Homecoming is slated for a July 7, 2017 release.
Doesn’t this just make you “Happy?”….get it “Happy”….oh never mind
