One of the big things that Marvel Studios is doing on top of the Phase 4 and 5 movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the big MCU TV shows they are producing for the Disney plus streaming site. Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige is developing a number of big budget TV shows for the Disney+ streaming service. But now it seems that may not be all because days after Hulu pulled the plug on GHOST RIDER, it’s now believed that all future live-action small screen productions will fall solely under Feige’s Marvel Studios banner.
A Marvel Television insider recently told Variety that they at HULU have “several” live-action projects in the works. But for know the only one that known is HELSTROM as the rest have either been scrapped or have uncertain futures. RUNAWAYS and CLOAK AND DAGGER (both which are set to air upcoming seasons) have yet to be renewed beyond their upcoming seasons.
It’s being reported that the plan now is for Marvel Studios to basically be in charge of everything to ensure that the stories put out there are of a consistent quality. With the Disney+ shows, “Marvel Studios execs and Feige held meetings early on to discuss how to maintain the visual standard fans have come to expect from Marvel’s films while still bringing their budgets more in line with other TV shows.”
Marvel Television has never really recovered from the embarrassment of THE INHUMANS, which many do not like to speak of. Along with the cancellations of the Marvel Netflix shows it is very understandable. But the animated projects which are set to hit HULU are still all set to go .
Now, it sounds like Marvel Television’s future projects will mostly be of the animated variety.
