SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME Sequel Delayed To December 2021

In another day filled with theatrical release push backs the much anticipated SPIDER- MAN FAR FROM HOME sequel has once again fallen victim to the new slate dates.

Even though the change isnt as bad as others, the film has moved from November 5, 2021 to December 17,2021. Sony announced the move on Thursday night after a shakeup of Disney’s film slate was unveiled earlier in the day. The “Far From Home” sequel will take the spot formerly held by “Avatar 2,” which was pushed back a year to Dec. 16, 2022.

Just in case you need a reminder the third film with Tom Holland’s version of Spider-Man was originally supposed to hit theaters on July 16, 2021 but due to the coronavirus pandemic was pushed back earlier this year in April.

Sony Pictures noted that the latest delay was only part of the domestic release calendar, leaving its international release in question.

Will We Possibly No Longer See Spider-Man In The MCU

kevinspidey.jpg

I guess the saying is “it was fun while it lasted”, because it seems as if the wall crawler may no longer be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige won’t produce any further Spider-Man films because of an inability by Disney and Sony Pictures to reach new terms that would have given the former a co-financing stake going forward. This is reportedly due to a dispute that has taken place over the past few months at the top of Disney and Sony has essentially nixed Feige, and the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe, as reported by DEADLINE.

Now which was initially thought as only one more Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures co-produced Spider-Man film is said to be two actually that are meant to have director Jon Watts and Tom Holland right at the forefront  Unless something dramatic happens, Feige won’t be the lead creative producer of those pictures.

The main reason for this drastic fallout is of course money and when you here some of the specifics you can see why neither side wanted to really budge.  Disney asked that future Spider-Man films be a 50/50 co-financing arrangement between the studios, and there were discussions that this might extend to other films in the Spider-Man universe. Sony turned that offer down plain and simple and possibly never came back to the table with a counter off. The heads of Sony, Tom Rothman and Tony Vinciquerra simply didn’t want to share its biggest franchise. Keep in mind SPIDER-MAN FAR FROM HOME just became Sony’s highest grossing property every surpassing SKYFALL and generating $1.109 billion. Sony proposed keeping the current deal going under the current terms where Marvel receives in the range of 5% of first dollar gross, sources said. Disney refused.

In Sony’s defense they also had another reason for not wanting to split the production cost as Marvel keeps all of the merchandising for Spidey. Then to give up half of their universe to which they own the rights to may have been too much. But Sony seems to be in a good position as they hold the right to many other Spider-Man based characters including the Tom Hardy starring VENOM which the sequel is being directed by Andy Serkis,  MORBIUS starring Jared Leto, not to mention their Oscar winning animated SPIDERMAN INTO THE SPIDER VERSE.

Currently Marvel Studios/Disney, Feige nor Sony Pictures have commented.

Well we did not get that….yet? But we did get a bunch of new posters for the wall crawlers next adventure.

Spider-Man Far From Home hits theaters this summer July 5th

Spider-Man Far From Home Trailer and Poster

We have all been waiting on it, after the breakdown we received from the Brazil Comic Con. Now it is finally upon us and it is a good one. Of course this is talking about the trailer for Spider-Man Far From Home.

There are a lot of big reveals here, includingplot details, Aunt May’s acceptance of Peter as the wall crawler, new suits and most excitingly, a first look at Mysterio. Gyllenhaal as Quentin beck looks incredible in action and even has that iconic fishbowl helmet which is bound to make comic book fans happy but is he the lone villain as we also see Hydro Man.

Check out the trailer for yourself and enjoy.

More behind the scenes photos from the filming of Spider-Man Far From Home are here and it gives us the wall crawler in another new suit.

This time we see Tom Holland who plays Spidey decked out in a red and black suit. There was a toy of the suit in the past. See below

It seems that Mr. Stark may have hooked up Peter with a variety of suits outside of just the upgraded variation and the iron spider. Add this to the noir-esque one we have seen and it beckons the question how many more suits will be used in the movie.

Cannot wait til 2019 for this one

Spider-Man Far From Home Stealth Suit May Hold AVENGERS Spoilers

SpidermanNoir

Photos have recently been released from the set of Spider-Man:Far From Home with show the wall crawler donning a black stealth suit that is reminiscent to his original spidey suit in Spider-Man Homecoming as well as an ode to the classic Spider-Man Noir look.

Now further closeups show a bit more detail about the suit that may hold some potential spoilers as we head into Avengers 4 which is currently still untitled.

As you can see not only is the suit dark and stealthy but is also appears to be armor plated and even sort of tactical.

Now if we look at a lightened version of the photo reveals that the costume has a S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on it and that may provide some major clues about both this movie and Avengers 4. In case you have been under a rock both Nick Fury and Maria Hill will appear in the sequel and yes they did turn to coffee grounds in Avengers Infinity War but it does not that they do not return in the next Avengers team up that releases in theaters before the second Spider-Man film. Could it be that the organization is reformed after the Thanos attack which would absolutely be understood within the MCU.

Is The Chameleon Headed ‘Far From Home’?

chameleon.jpg

By ‘Far From Home’ this is talking about one of the future films in the Marvel Studios world, Spider-Man Far From Home.

Numan Acar (Homeland, Disney’s Aladdin remake) has been added to the cast of the wall crawlers sequel. No full details have been released about his direct role as of yet, all that is known for now is that he is playing a character name Dmitri.

Of course there are several Dmitris in the Marvel Comics Universe, but the one most closely associated with the friendly neighborhood webhead is Dmitri Smerdyakov, a.k.a. The Chameleon.

Again this has not been confirmed that is the role, only playing connect the dots if you will. But it has been rumored that the Chameleon was set to appear in the sequel from the highly successful Spider-man:Homecoming. Also it needs to be noted that Acar is fluent in multiple languages, so if he were portraying a master of disguise it will seem more authentic if you will.

J.B Smoove is Far From Home with Spider-Man

jbsmoovespiderman.jpg

Comedian and actor J.B Smoove has been added to the cast of the upcoming Sony film Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now Sony has yet to disclose what his official role in the movie will be but it is being told that it is a lead in part of the ensemble cast. this is the only additional casting announcement since Jake Gyllenhaal was announced to be playing Mysterio.

Tom Holland is reprising his role as Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man along with Zendaya and Michael Keaton returning in their roles as well.

Spider-Man Far From Home is set to hit theaters July 5 2019.
