The CW’s flagship superhero show ARROW is set to end this year after its 8th and final season. Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) is expected to meet his final demise during the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover this season, which will also be the final episode for the show.

But even though Oliver Queen will be gone, the heroics of the Green Arrow will still live on. The CW has set a spin-off that will be headlined by Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy.

The backdoor pilot for the upcoming series will be set as an episode during the upcoming final season of ARROW. The new superhero show is set to follow Mia Smoak (McNamara) as the new Green Arrow as well as the Canaries, Laurel Lance (Cassidy) and Dinah Drake (Harkavy).

This is not the first time that ARROW has been utilized to give shows in the arrowverse a backdoor pilot. This was the case with THE FLASH.

No date has yet been given for the airing of the upcoming spin-off series.

All good things must inevitably come to an end. One of those good things (not to everyone) the reason for the CW’s Arrowverse, Arrow is going to end with its eighth season which will be a 10 episode season. Most seasons have had 23 episodes.

The news was broken by the Green Arrow himself, Stephen Amell via twitter.

Arrow has had an extensive run and introduced many characters from the DC Comics Universe. It has also spawned to series in both THE FLASH and DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. The show has also faced criticism from many critics and fans as well throughout various seasons.

Let us know you’re thoughts and if you will be sad or excited to see the show leave.

We have already been told that during this years Arrowverse crossover in December we will be getting the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane and Arrow star Stephen Amell’s wife Cassandra Jean Amell will make her debut as Nora Fries the future Mrs Freeze. Along with that we will see the return of Tyler Hoechlin as the Man of Steel.

A photo from behind the scenes of the filming the crossover shows us Hoechlin in the black superman suit standing with Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell. The photo was taken and posted on the Green Arrow’s himself twitter.

A big question is what are the circumstances that put Kal-El in the different suit. Only time will tell.

“Elseworlds,” this year’s Arrowverse crossover event, will begin with The Flash on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8 pm ET, continue with Arrow on Monday, Dec. 10 at 8 pm ET and end with Supergirl on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 8 pm ET.

Batwoman Is Heading Into the Arrowverse

The Arrowverse is expanding once again and this time its adding another classic DC Comics character.  This time it is in the form of Kathy Kane aka Batwoman. She will be making her arrival in the next massive crossover that features all of the Arrowverse shows which include Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash and Supergirl. Kane was originally introduced in DC comics back in 1956 and was re-imagined into the “New 52”. Her character now is a Jewish lesbian which potentially means another superhero love affair for Sara Lance (played by Caity Lotz).

Arrow star Stephen Amell shared the amazing news at The CW’s upfront presentation. “We’re incredibly excited to announce that we’ll be doing another crossover event this fall on the CW, and we’ll be introducing a new character,” Amell said. “For the very first time appearing, we’ll be fighting alongside Batwoman, which is terrific. The crossover is going to make it to air in December. I need to leave right now and start filming it.”

CW boss Mark Pedowitz added. “We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse,” “This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event.”

We have constantly been teased about the arrival of Gotham City within the Arrowverse. It was referenced in Supergirl by both Kara (Supergirl) who said her cousin has worked with a guy with a lot of tech and gadgets. Also by a couple who stated “we need to go back to Gotham” In The Flash in Season one the newspaper in which they kept going to about the future stated the Wayne Tech was merging with Queen Consolidated. Also in Arrow while Oliver Queen was still mayor of Star City and being questioned at a press conference mentioned both Gotham and Bruce Wayne by name.

Are you excited for Karly Kane’s arrival and are you hoping this will lead into seeing Bruce himself? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Arrow’s Father Figure Is Leaving The Show

It seems as if Star City will once again be looking for a new mayor. Paul Blackthorne who plays Mayor Quentin Lance is leaving the DC superhero show Arrow at the end of its sixth season.

Blackthorne has been with Arrow since the very beginning and become an essential part in Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) traversing Star City as both the former billionaire and superhero vigilante known as The Green Arrow. He also initially despised Oliver’s vigilante alter ego the Hood before slowly coming to work in tandem with the Emerald Archer, eventually discovering Oliver and the Green Arrow were one and the same. This will be the second series original leaving the show since Willa Holland who played Oliver’s sister, Thea Quinn earlier this season.

Quentin Lance has gone through an array of emotions throughout the show. In the first season he dealt with the loss of his daughter Sara (played by Caity Lotz) only to find out later that she was indeed alive and had become a trained assassin…only to be killed again by Thea Queen only to be resurrected once again and become a LEGEND on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. He also battled alcoholism after both Sara’s death and later on his other daughter Laurel (Katie Cassidy) at the hands of Damien Dahrk.

Arrow was just recently renewed for its seventh season. Things are being kept very tight lip as to how exactly Blackthorne’s Quentin Lance will exit the show at the end of this season.

Another WWE Superstar is coming to the Arrowverse

FB_IMG_1511809321634

Could the scarlet speedster become the victim of a jackhammer? This is a question we will get the answer to because the WWE’s own superhero, Goldberg will be appearing on two upcoming episodes of CW’s The Flash.

The former WWE Universal Champion confirmed this himself via his Twitter.

Goldberg is not the first WWE Superstar to grace the ARROWVERSE. After his Summer Slam encounter with Arrow’s Stephen Smell, Cody Rhodes appeared on the show as the character Stardust (a nod to his WWE persona at the time).

Does this mean that Goldberg will potentially one of the new Metahumans created by the dark matter that struck the bus as part of a grand scheme by The Thinker? Will he be an adversary for Team Flash or Will he be a new barista at Jitters?

Guess we all just have to wait and see.

Slade Wilson is coming back to Arrow

FB_IMG_1491864425842

Not just Slade Wilson, but more specifically Manu Bennett? Could this be a setup to a potentially action packed season finale of Arrow?

Stephen Amell who portrays Oliver Queen, tweeted a pic featuring the Infamous Deathstroke mask with the caption “Desperate times call for desperate measures. Welcome back @manubennett”. Could this mean that Oliver Queen will go to the A.R.G.U.S. maximum security prison on Lian Yu and recruit Slade Wilson (played by Bennett) to help him deal with the homicidal Adrian Chase/Simon Morrison/Promethius?

This season has been loaded with action and I for one would love to see Slade both suited and mirakuru’ed up.

Supergirl EP gives breakdown as how Arrowverse heroes will handle Kryptonian

Denizens of the CW network’s Arrowverse — the fictional universe that encompasses the CW television shows “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Legends of Tomorrow” and now “Supergirl” — have seen a lot in their time, but nothing quite like Kara Zor-El, Supergirl. The network is planning a massive crossover event for this fall, though, so some viewers are naturally curious about how the only bonafide alien in the crew is going to be received.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Supergirl — the orphan Kryptonian played by Melissa Benoist — is greeted with a mix of intrigue and uncertainty by her peers. And then she starts flying around.

“Some people, like Barry [Grant Gustin], already know her, so Barry’s completely cool with her,” said “Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Some people are instantly charmed by her; I think Sara’s [Caity Lotz] got a little crush on her. Diggle [David Ramsey], as always, just when he thinks he’s seen it all, there’s a moment in it where somebody says, ‘This is Supergirl,’ and they say, ‘What’s so super about her?’ and she just lifts off the ground. Dig’s like, ‘I’m convinced.’”

Despite “Supergirl” only recently making the jump from CBS to the CW, the character is already a known quantity to some in the Arrowverse. Last year Grant Gustin, who plays the lead speedster “The Flash,” guest starred on an episode of “Supergirl.” It was Supergirl’s induction into the CW’s Arrowverse.

Details surrounding the crossover remain scarce, although it is known that the villains of the event will be the Dominators. The crossover is expected to air in December.

Can Arrow Get Back On Track?

arrow2

We are less than a week away from the return of the Emerald Archer to television. Many people are realistically not that excited about the upcoming 5th season and its some what understandable.

Sure the 1st season had to work to grab and keep viewers but it did enough to make them want to watch season 2. Then the full on conflict between “The Arrow” and “Deathstroke” was built up so well until what many felt was a less than climatic final fight between the two. Season three almost lost EVERYONE with the full on story of the League of Assassins but hey this Super Villain enjoyed the story of Nyssa Al’Ghul. Season Fours story of magic was so underwhelming but the arrival of Matt Ryan as Constantine brought in a little bit of hope only to once again deal out another non climatic battle. This time with the fully dubbed “Green Arrow” taking on Damien Dahrk (even though Neal McDonough was AMAZING). Oh yeah lets not forget the death of Laurel Lance/Black Canary which many people took to social media to exclaim their COMPLETE AND UTTER DISDAIN.

But last come to present day where we are at the cusp of a brand new season. With a new season once again there are a lot of changes. Thea and Diggle have left the team (but they are for sure coming back) Oliver (Stephen Amell) is recruiting a new team in Wild dog, Artemis, Mr. Terrific and Ragman. But what should make straying fans and those losing hope feel a bit of solace is that this time the bad guy is just a REGULAR BAD GUY. There’s no super powers, no crew of ninja assassins, no magic just a straight up badass in Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman) and I for one am SUPER EXCITED.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention this is the last year for the Oliver Queen flashbacks.

But you need to know if nothing else can get you a little bit fired up for this season which premieres Wednesday October 5th on the CW (cheap plug) this two-minute promo posted by Stephen Amell himself should do it.
