TITANS Season 2 Has Its Mercy Graves In Natalie Gumede

Even as production on season two of TITANS on the DC Universe is well underway we are still getting new and exciting casting news. Mercy Graves is coming to the superhero show and she will be played by DOCTOR WHO alum, Natalie Gumede. Graves is known as the formidable bodyguard and ruthless righthand to evil genius and megalomaniac, Lex Luthor.

The news which was first broken by Deadline says that Gumede is best known for her portrayal of Ashley in the Doctor Who Christmas Special in 2014 and more recently the 10-part Jekyll & Hyde series on ITV as the head of the criminal underworld in 1930s London.

The official character bio from the show’s producers: “Mercy Graves is the ruthless, cunning, right hand and bodyguard to the notorious Lex Luthor – serving her boss with unquestioned loyalty. Her connection to the Luthors runs deep, as Mercy has been a friend of the family and in Lex’s life since they were young.”

The characater of Mercy Graves was also seen on this recents episode of SUPERGIRL on the CW by Rhona Mitra. Now its wondering who will possibly be portraying Lex Luthor.

What are your thoughts and who do you hope to see as Lex in the series?

SUPERGIRL Has Its Lex Luthor In Jon Cryer

It had been revealed that the 4th season of Supergirl on The CW would finally bring in the villainous Lex Luthor after much talk of his name and having his mother and sister Lillian and Lena Luthor respectively in the series. Now we know how will portray the man known as Superman’s greatest for. That man is former Two and A Half Men star, Jon Cryer.

Cryer will be a recurring character on the series and will.make his debut in the 15th episode of this season. A season which has mirrored the current political landscape involving discussions on freedom of the press, immigration, hate and racism and much more.

Cryer is no stranger to the superman universe. In the 1987 film Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, Cryer played Lenny Luthor, nephew to Lex Luthor who was portrayed by Gene Hackman.

Had Superman Been In Shazam He Would Not Have Said Much

Henry Cavill's 'Shazam!' Cameo As Superman Was Only Going To Be Two Lines

One of the biggest shocks throughout the DC cinematic Universe was that Warner Bros and Henry Cavill may have separated their business relationship. Though nothing is 100% official but many believe that Justice League may have been the last time we see Cavill as the Man of Steel.

One of the biggest reasonings behind the breakdown between the two sides was a potential cameo in the upcoming SHAZAM! An agreement was not reached and it is also been revealed that Cavill’s potential cameo would only have had Superman deliver two lines.

Now no one knows officially knows if the cameo wont happen and possibly all the talks of separation may just be an amazing marketing ploy. But it has come out that Warner Bros. is reportedly considering Marvel Studios Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan to don the cape and tights. Along with that bit of news they are also shifting their focus to the in development Supergirl film. Supergirl or Kara Zor El is the cousin of Superman. Then script is currently being written by 22 Jump Street scribe Oren Uziel.

Warner Bros is Reportedly Looking For A Female Director For SUPERGIRL movie.

A report has been released on Deadline about the crop of female filmmakers with projects lined up or currently shooting at Warner Bros.. Along with the women already listed they also express an interest to have a woman to direct the upcoming Supergirl project.

It is assumed that this is part of a larger strategy following the massive success of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, the most successful DC project to date. This is obviously backed up by the recent hiring of both Ava DuVernay and Cathy Yan to direct New Gods and Birds of Prey, respectively. Also there is talk of having a female director to helm the Batgirl film still in development.

Which female director would you like to see take on the Girl of Steel.

Warner Bros. Now Has A ‘SUPERGIRL’ Movie In The Works

Warner Bros has tapped Oren Uziel (Mortal Kombat, 22 Jump Street, The Cloverfield Paradox, Sonic the Hedgehog) to pen the script for a solo SUPERGIRL film. Nothing more about the plot or who may even portray the girl of steel has been released yet.

Rhona Mitra To Play Mercy Graves On ‘Supergirl’

Rhona Mitra (The Last Ship, The Strain) has been cast to play Mercy Graves, Lex Luthor’s longtime bodyguard on the DC series Supergirl on the CW.  Robert Baker has also been cast on the show to portray Mercy’s brother, Otis Graves

A bit of back story on the iconic DC character, Mercy Graves (Mitra) is an ex-CADMUS agent who  has always believed in human exceptionalism. But with both Lex and Lillian in prison, Mercy is stepping out of the Luthor shadow and running her own show. With her biting wit and lethal brawn, Mercy steadily becomes a key figure in National City’s growing “human-first” movement. This will play into the angle also being used by Agent Liberty who will be played by Sam Witwer.

Otis Graves is Mercy’s defacto right hand man. He is seemingly not that bright but he makes up for with his savant-like abilities to assassinate aliens.

Supergirl returns on the CW, this October.

Sam Witwer Cast as Agent Liberty in ‘Supergirl’ Season 4

Supergirl is currently in production of its fourth season and a major casting announcement has been revealed.

Sam Witwer, known for portraying Doomsday in Smallville and the voice of Darth Maul in the Star Wars universe (minus The Phantom Menace) has been cast in the Arrowverse show as Agent Liberty who is the founder and the figurehead of the Children of Liberty – a hate group whose goal is a human first order.

After the previous events of the show where the citizens of National City and the world discovered the existence of aliens living among them, the usage of this character and this story line will be very interesting. What makes this character even more dastardly, is even with the level of hate speech he tries to portray himself as a loving family man.

Supergirl returns on a new night Sunday October 14th 8/7c on the CW.
