CAPTAIN MARVEL Toys Reveal Potentially MAJOR SPOILER

We are a little over a month away from the avenging debut of Captain Marvel in theaters and now we are getting look at many of the toys that are based off of the film. One of the big things with the toy reveals are that they may hold some spoilers that would be best only discovering watching the film first-hand.

It has been known for a while now (thanks to various pieces of merchandise and toy packaging) that Jude Law is actually playing Yon-Rogg in the film, but according to the Shop Disney website another surprise character from the comics may be possibly showing up?

Shop Disney website has listed a Genis-Vell action figure which is part of Marvel Legends’ Captain Marvel range and based on the character’s comic book appearance. However, that listing notes that fans can “Recreate Genis-Vell’s Captain Marvel scenes.”

Now there is potential this could be a mistake or this was listed and maybe thought no one would catch on to it. As it was mentioned  Genis-Vell figure is based on his comic book counterpart. In the comics, Genis-Vell is the son of Captain Mar-Vell but was raised to think he was actually the son of Thanos’ brother Starfox, a character we know will appear in Eternals. So could all of this connect as we go into the next Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel’s ‘The Eternals’ Gets ‘The Rider’ Director Chloe Zhao

Marvel’s story of super power near-god beings known as The Celestials and their villainous adversaries the Deviants now has its director to bring to life on the big screen for the film The Eternals.

Chloe Zhao director of the film The Rider, which won the C.I.C.A.E. Award at the Cannes Film Festival. It also premiered in the Directors Fortnight and went on to play Telluride and TIFF last year. She will helm the project with the screenplay from Matthew and Ryan Firpo.

Some backstory on The Eternals, the Celestials (beings similar to Ego the Living Planet as seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 played by Kurt Russell) experimented on humans creating both races of immortal spin-offs. The Eternals debuted as a comic in July 1976. Also Thanos ,the Mad Titan who disintegrated half of reality is the son of Eternals Mentor and Sui-San, Thanos carries the Deviants gene, and as such, shares the physical appearance of the Eternals’ cousin race.  So this film may play into being sort of an origin story to Thanos himself.

Well we officially have a Cable and well he’s also the major bad guy for the Avengers.

In an exclusive from the Hollywood Reporter  Josh Brolin has nabbed the hotly contested role of Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The production has been on the warpath to find the right actor for the role for months, with Michael Shannon almost nabbing the role and Stranger Things star David Harbour on the shortlist. (There were even rumors of conversations with Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt.)

In the end, Brolin emerged as a surprise contender, notching his second Marvel Comics character in the process; the actor plays the villain Thanos in the Marvel Studios movies. Sources say Brolin’s deal is for four movies.

David Leitch is directing the sequel to Fox’s surprise blockbuster, with the Twentieth Century Fox movie heading towards a June production start in Vancouver.

Reynolds is reprising his role as the wisecracking mercenary, with the story expanding to include other characters from Deadpool’s corner of Marvel’s X-Men universe.

Atlanta breakout Zazie Beetz has already been cast as the super-powered merc named Domino.

Cable, was co-created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson, and is described as in many ways being the opposite of Deadpool: a man who is a leader and used to being obeyed, who is very controlled but with an aura of simmering violence. In the comics, Cable was from the future and was the adult of Scott Summers, also known as the X-Man Cyclops.

Brolin, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 2009’s Milk, has been on a busy streak with a lot of his work culmination this fall. He is part of the ensemble cast of Granite Mountain, Joseph Kosinski’s firefighting adventure that opens Sept. 22 and also stars with Benicio del Toro in Soldado, the sequel to Sicario. He also appears in George Clooney’s ensemble Suburbicon, which opens Nov. 3, and stars in the drama The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter that opens Dec 25.
