The changes and switch ups are still happening with Warner Bros THE FLASH movie. It now seems that there are new people in the mix to not only direct the Scarlet Speedsters solo film but to scribe the screenplay as well.
Andy Muschietti, the director of It and the upcoming It: Chapter Two, is in talks to direct the action-adventure project based on the DC Comics superhero. His partner and sister, Barbara Muschietti, will produce. joining Michael Disco on the project. Also Christina Hodson, the writer of Bumblebee and the upcoming Warner Bros. BIRDS OF PREY is set to write the film.
Now this may sound a bit confusing to some as last heard both John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were writing not only writing the film as well as set to direct it but they have moved on. As well Ezra Miller, who is still attached to play the fastest man alive also wrote a version of the script along comic book writer, Grant Morrison but Warner Bros. has moved forward without that one either.
It is less than a month away until the 50th anniversary of San Diego Comic Con is upon us. One of the notable things will be the heavy WBTV presence throughout Ballroom 20. With that one of the focuses will be be that of the CW’s Arrowverse.
The reason for this is not only will it be the eighth and final season of ARROW but also is the mega CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover. This will bring together BATWOMAN, ARROW, THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and no one is sure yet if BLACK LIGHTNING will fall into the fray.
We dont know fully what to expect yet in regards to the crossover or their respective shows but it seems as though we may have a bit of a tease from Arrowverse executive consultant and former ARROW showrunner Marc Guggenheim. Guggenheim took to Twitter to tease of the potential Crisis-size announcement.
CW’s The Flash was part of the batch of shows that received an early renewal now heading for a sixth season, but of the lead could be leaving the show. If new reports are any indication, then The Flash mainstay Carlos Valdes who plays Cisco Roman/Vibe may not be a series regular when the show returns this fall.
According to We Got This Covered, Valdes is looking to “move on to new pastures” and plans to leave the show once this season finishes its run. The report says the show will more than likely make it a soft write-off, leaving the door open for Valdes to reprise his role in future episodes across The CW’s Arrowverse.
Valdes is one of the most-tenured characters on The Flash, being introduced alongside Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) in a season two episode of Arrow. Even though he has been absent from a few of the most recent episodes, Valdes will be back on the show this upcoming episode “Cause and XS” .
