The cast of the upcoming TITANS series is rounding itself out. We now have a casting for Beast Boy.

Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) has been cast as the Green Hero opposite Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop and Teagan Croft as Garfield “Gar” Logan (aka Beast Boy). The new live-action series TITANS is from Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman and Geoff Johns

Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson (Thwaites) emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire (Diop), Raven (Croft) and others.

A bit of backstory on Beast Boy. As a child, Potter’s Garfield “Gar” Logan contracted the lethal disease, Sakutia, while on an African expedition with his geneticist parents. Treated with an experimental drug, Gar survived but not without developing some bizarre side effects.  Along with skin and hair turning permanently green, the wisecracking, fun-loving Beast Boy is able to reshape himself into any animal of any size he can imagine.

In addition to the core Titans quartet, the series also cast Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly as recurring, playing superhero duo Hawk & Dove, with an option to become regulars in Season 2 and possibly headline a potential spinoff series down the road.

The upcoming Greg Berlanti series, Titans, is adding more cast members to its lineup. Brenton Thwaites (Gods Of Egypt) was recently cast as Dick Grayson, the original Robin, and he’ll be joined by 24: Legacy’s Anna Diop as Starfire and Home And Away’s Teagan Croft as Raven. The latest news from Deadline says Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly have been cast as Hawk and Dove.

Minka Kelly is likely best known from Friday Night Lights and Parenthood. You might remember Ritchson from the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, but he was also Aquaman on Smallville. Hawk and Dove were originally brothers in the comics, but after Dove’s death, he was replaced by Dawn Granger, which sets up what the new series is going for here. The way these characters got their powers have always been a little sketchy, but I’m sure the series or the rumored potential spin-off will give us more information.

She joins Australian newcomer Teagan Croft, who was cast as another lead, Raven, in the series that’s slated to premiere in 2018 as part of the inaugural slate of a new DC-branded direct-to-consumer digital service.

Written by Goldsman, DC Entertainment’s Johns and Berlanti, Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others. Dick Grayson who is Robin in the Teen Titans series has not yet been cast or maybe he has and it has not been announced.

Now a bit of backstory on Starfire (aka Koriand’r), she is an alien princess from a warrior planet who seeks asylum on Earth. A no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners stranger on our world, she has the ability to shoot energy bolts and fly. Searching for her place on Earth, she’ll come into contact with the Titans.

Many people have been curious as to whom the full team will be given that Cyborg, who is seen in the current Teen Titans Go series will be a prominent member of the DC Justice League movie in November.
