Todd Phillips JOKER Gets A HARD R-Rating

jp.jpg

It is hard to believe that anyone thought that the upcoming JOKER movie starring Joaquin Phoenix would get any other rating than R. Now it is officially confirmed to be an R-rated film and a HARD R at that. The films rating was given by the Motion Picture Association of America.  According to the movie’s official website, the Clown Prince of Crime’s first solo movie will feature, “Strong Bloody Violence, Disturbing Behavior, Language and Brief Sexual Images.”
It has been constantly going around that the Todd Phillips directed film would be aimed at a much older movie as this is not the ordinary comic book movie. One of the main things that has been said is that there will be “disturbing behavior”. So on top of what we have seen in the trailers that give off the vibes a lot of weird stuff will happen.

A new still from the film has been released and it is more of Joaquin in the makeup, which is not a bad thing at all. If these photos showed us more Arthur Fleck than Joker there would be an uproar.

Keep in mind a new trailer will be dropping at the end of the month as well.

Joaquin Phoenix is an incredible actor, with the amazing ability to convey any type of emotion or demeanor needed for a role. Seeing him with the makeup on and this creepy smile is indeed TERRIFYING. It honestly has the vibes of legendary serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

A NEW Thomas Wayne Has Been Cast For JOKER

One minute we had a Thomas Wayne the next minute we didn’t . Now we have one again and hopefully this one sticks.

Actor Brett Cullen who has already been within the caped crusaders universe will be making his return but this time as his father, Thomas Wayne in the Todd Phillips directed JOKER film. This comes after actor Alec Baldwin was cast in the role and 48 hrs later said he would no longer be portraying father of the future Batman.

As mentioned, Cullen is no stranger to the superhero world, having been in The Dark Knight Rises as a congressman he also was in Ghost Rider as Barton Blaze.

Cullen will play Wayne family patriarch, and Bruce Wayne’s father, Thomas Wayne, which reports suggest will deviate from the traditional comic book depictions. In Phillips’ film, Wayne will reportedly be portrayed as a 1980s businessman in the vein of Donald Trump rather than an altruistic physician.

Photos have recently released of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, the failed stand up comedian who will eventually become the Clown Prince of Crime known as The Joker.

Alec Baldwin Is Part Of Todd Phillips’ JOKER movie

News has just broken that Alec Baldwin has signed on to be part of the Todd Phillips helmed JOKER film starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime.

The part that makes this even more interesting is who he is speculating to be portraying. It is rumored that Baldwin may be portraying Thomas Wayne, the father of Bruce Wayne who is murdered and ultimately causes Bruce to become the caped crusader known as BATMAN. Thomas and his wife Martha in the comics are murdered after leaving the theater by a mugger named Joe Chill in the comics. However in the 1989 Batman film directed by Tim Burton, they were killed by Jack Napier (played by Jack Nicholson) who would ultimately become The Joker.

There has not been much information as to what the exact plot is for the film. But the cameras are set to begin rolling on September 10th.

Baldwin joins a growing cast that includes Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, and Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond. As has been previously reported, Phillips’ take on the famed DC character will possess a grittier, ’80s sensibility.

Are you excited to hear about this addition to the lineup?

Todd Phillips ‘Joker’ Movie Now Has An Official Release Date

joaquinthumb

It was just last week that we had the official announcement of Joaquin Phoenix taking on the role as the Crown Prince of Crime in the Todd Phillips film which is said to be titled simply “Joker“.

Now Warner Bros is adding on to the train that is this origin story by announcing the movies official release date. The movie is set to hit theaters on October 4th 2019. This comes as some what of a shock given many to think it takes a minimum of two years for a movie like this one. But with a reported budget of $55 million dollars and production set to commence in September this is a rather unusual movie for a major movie studio.

The film based around a failed stand-up comedian who has a series of incidents that turns him into one of the most iconic villains in comic book history.

Being Nervous Playing The Joker?? Joaquin Phoenix Says He Is Not At All

joaquinjoker.jpglet

Let us say this first and foremost: it has not OFFICIALLY been announced that Phoenix will take on the mantle of the Clown Prince of Crime, but Phoenix has said that he is up to the challenge and not afraid to fill the big shoes .

Those shoes of course belong to the late Heath Ledger. His portrayal of the Joker in “The Dark Knight” was so captivating it won him an Oscar for best supporting actor. In a recent interview the actor did not confirm nor deny that he would be part of the Todd Phillips standalone film that is reportedly going to be set in the 90s.

“I don’t know about that movie or character specifically, but I was thinking about it’s interesting with comics there’s different writers and artists that come on. It’s different than this character from literature being uniquely that. There are different interpretations. It’s so interesting; I was just thinking about it today, it seems so unique in some ways to comic books. I think there’s probably room for that. Maybe it’s like doing a play, like you always hear about people doing something, ‘You should have seen this actor in this performance,’ but then other actors do it and it’s a different kind of film. I think that genre, comic books, kind of lends itself to having different people play the same character and interpret it in a different way. It’s kind of built into the source material in some ways. I think it’s cool when people do that.”

Phoenix could definitely pull off the role but there has been much hesitation as to who should be under the makeup after the less than well received criticism of Academy Award winner, Jared Leto from the Suicide Squad film. He may definitely have an easier  chance if you will, with this project said to be closely following the source material.

What do you all think? Do you want to see Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker in a Joker origin film or do you even want an origin film at all? Let us know below.
