Last time we saw Willa Holland as Thea Queen in ARROW, she appeared as a talking head during the Oliver Queen/Green Arrow documentary in season 7. Now it has been confirmed that she will return as in a recurring role for the 8th and final season.
Full details as to what capacity in which she will return has not been revealed but showrunner Beth Schwartz has expressed her excitement, “We are thrilled to have Willa back in our final season.”
Its never really been a secret that Colton Haynes could once again don the red hood and take back up the mantle of Arsenal on the CW show Arrow. The biggest question was more specifically when it would happen. Earlier this year, Haynes took to social media to tease a possible return. Well it’s now confirmed that he’ll return to The CW series next year.
Now lets not get too excited and thinking that this may be a full on return. The actor is only coming back for a short arc that will kick off with the fifteenth episode and from a statement released it sounds like he may very well be used as a way of writing Willa Holland’s Thea Queen out of the series.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Colton Haynes will be reprising his role as Roy Harper,” executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle said in a statement released today confirming the actor’s upcoming return to the show. “Roy is called back to Star City to help resolve an urgent matter with high stakes for the team. His short visit turns into something surprising when he reunites with Thea and sparks a change in both of their lives that will have long-lasting consequences…”
This could be interesting both Speedy and Arsenal officially gone from Star City and absconding away to start a new life together. Well whatever is going to happen we will have to wait until the show comes back from its mid-season hiatus on January 18th.
